Do you want to get away from the heat of the valleys and really enjoy the freshness of summer in the mountains? You are only 6 minutes away from being “mountain-happy”. The Helm cable cars provide you with convenient and comfortable assistance to get up there and in on the action.

Don’t think that Helm Mountain can only be enjoyed by sporty types. As well as being a place for hiking and nature, the border mountain between Italy and Austria is a real meeting place for different cultures. This is the inspiration for the “Helm Grenzgänge” Mountain Festival – a platform that gives space to all of the different traditions from the German-speaking South and East Tyrol, the Italian speaking areas of Comelico and Ampezzo and also the Ladin people. With a visit to Helm Mountain, you can kill three birds with one stone: a sporty activity programme with hiking and Nordic walking, pure enjoyment of nature in front of a backdrop of 25 three thousand metre plus mountains, and the experience of the culture and customs of the Alta Pusteria inhabitants in the Dolomites.

Monte Elmo – Farmer’s Autumn Culinary Festival (07.09.2008)

11am: Mountain Mass on the Monte Elmo Plateau with Toni Fiung. Followed by a large open air and indoor meal at the Monte Elmo Restaurant: local rustic specialities from the Alta Pusteria prepared by farmers’ wives – mountain concert by the music band of San Candido– special programme of activities for children

 

Monte Elmo – Kehraus (Last open day) (05.10.2008)

From 12 noon: Festival to mark the end of summer on the mountain – afternoon of first class musical performance with the music band of Strassen (A).
From 12 noon: the travel with the cable car is free.
